Maui Beaches

Ah the beaches of Maui. What brings many of us back to Maui time and time again are the beautiful beaches that engulf the island. With water temperatures in the 70's and constant sun, who could blame us?

The island of Maui is world renowned for its white, black, and even tan beaches. The island has quite a few beaches that deserve a visit by anyone staying on the island. Below we have listed some of them most notable, but that does not mean that we covered them all. Be sure to visit as many beaches as possible, bring lots of sun screen, and be ready to relax.
Our favorite beach on Maui is Kaanapali. Located on the western side of Maui, Kaanapali has something for everyone. Its white sand and calm ocean give it almost a surreal feeling. At the tip of Kaanapali beach is black rock. Black rock is well known for its outstanding snorkeling, and its high adrenaline rock jumping. Natives and visitors alike clime to the top of this 30 foot volcanic rock to jump into the ocean below.

A good beach for walking and snorkeling is Wailea beach. Located on the south shore of Maui, Wailea is a large beach with a wonderful walking trail. The trail goes from hotel to hotel along this picturesque beach. There is good snorkeling, and a great view of the small island of Molokini.

Kapalua bay beach in Maui is yet another great location. Especially good for families and anyone who likes calm waters. Because Kapalua is situated between two long lava points, it is more like a bay than an actual beach. The calm waters make it a great location for snorkeling, and for small children, or swimmers who like to relax.
