Packing for Maui

Maui is warm all year long, even at night time. You can leave the cold weather clothing at home because you won't need them. Maui does get a lot of rain, so you may want to bring a light rain coat and an umbrella.

Sun screen is a must for anyone who plans on going outside. The sun in Maui is strong, and can burn your skin in as little as 30 minutes without protection. Bathing suites, shorts, light shirts should also be on the list. If you plan on spending time on the beach you should also consider bringing a large beach towel.

Hiking or walking shoes are also a great idea. There are plenty of great trails all around Maui. You might also consider bringing snorkeling equipment, or even buying it in Maui. Often times it is cheaper to buy it than to rent it, if you plan on going snorkeling more than once.
